Signature gathering for Phoenix Food Tax
When:Â Monday, Feb. 15th, 2010 – Friday, March 5th, 2010
Where:Â ASU Campus
From now until basically the first week of March, we will be helping collect signatures to fight the Phoenix Food Tax. Recently, the Phoenix city council quietly put a 2% tax on grocery food to cover their budget shortfall. Higher taxes are never the answer. If we collect enough signatures, then the tax will be placed on the ballot so Phoenix voters can decide directly if they want the tax or not. Please help us collect signatures! We will have the petitions out at our normal table times (11ish – 2ish M,W) but we will have to do more than that if we want to get 1000 registered Phoenix voters to sign our petition at ASU by the March deadline. Will you help us collect signatures to fight this food tax? If so, please RSVP for the event on our Facebook page.
Arizona Campaign for Liberty Activist Training School
When: April 3rd, 2010. 9:00 am – 3:30 pm
The AZCFL held an activist training school on Feb. 13th and due to its incredible success, they will be offering another class April 3rd! YAL at ASU will be joining many other like-minded activists for a day of training in tactics, tactical skills, and effective political activism. Basically, AZCFL will be teaching us exactly what we need to know to successfully make a political difference in our communities. Food will be provided! I expect all our members to be there! As soon as the event details are finalized, I will post the event on our Facebook page so you can RSVP. Tickets for the event are $25, so we need to know if you’ll be there so we can pay for your ticket! For more information including a schedule of the day’s activities, visit http://www.azc4l.com/. RSVP on Facebook!
